  • A teenager who was mauled by a wolf as a baby has spoken about being shunned by neighbours and schoolmates who call him 'ghost boy'.

  • Amrish, 18, of India, was left with a heavily scarred face and two of his bottom teeth protruding from his mouth after he was attacked by a wolf as a five-month-old baby.

  • He said he is now unable to eat properly and is often shunned by neighbours and other children who call him 'ghost boy' because they are afraid of him.

  • He added: 'Children and people are afraid of me. Because of this I didn't even get admission to school earlier.'

  • Amrish also said his family couldn't afford plastic surgery to help with the scarring as it would cost too much

  • But he added: 'My friends love me so much and they always take care of me.'

  • His mother took him out to where she was working in some fields on the day he was attacked by the wolf. 

  • She turned around during a break while working and suddenly saw a wolf 'eating' Amrish's face. 

  • He was taken to a nearby government hospital in Madhya Pradesh, India, where doctors were able to save his life.

  • He later underwent an operation on his face in 2012 - but was still left with visible scarring and has to wear a mask
